Wine Club Fall Pickup Party
Thanks to long time Airlie customer and Wine Club member, Larry Vidrine, this fall’s pickup party was a treat. Watching Larry cook up and serve an entire pig was impressive and delicious too. He has been roasting pigs for over twelve years and has quite the touch. An avid home cook, Larry loves creating culinary delights for family and friends alike. We are pleased that Airlie has become a second home for Larry, his wife Becky, and their beloved lab Mousse (not to be confused with Moose) and happily cooked for us this year. We would like to give a special thanks to Larry and his crew for helping make this year’s pickup parties a success!
Wine Club pickup events include educational seminars with winemaker, Elizabeth Clark, and casual dinners for club members and their guests. We are always welcoming new members, if you are interested click here to learn more about Wine Club benefits and to join.
Bottling 2022
The fruit came in exceptionally clean, however, we saw reduced harvest weights due to the heat wave in June. Even though 2021 was unseasonably hot and dry, we continued to Harvest right on schedule. We are excited to see the wines produced this year after the noticeably excellent quality of the fruit!
Bottling was seamless, with a stellar team! We are excited to introduce additional carbonated wines this spring, including a Chardonnay and Dry Rosé.
Your Tasting Fees at Work
At Airlie we believe in helping each other and helping the communities around us when we are able. One of the ways that Mary does this is to donate at least half of all tasting fees collected to local food banks. This week we were delighted to receive this photo and message about the impact these donations have made to the Marion Polk Food Share’s Community Gardens program.
“Dear Mary,
As the gardening season comes to a close, I wanted to share these photos of the Food Share’s Community Gardens program with you. Because of you, more than 600 families grew fresh produce in one of the Food Share’s 51 community gardens this summer. Thank you for making healthy food and community connections possible for our neighbors with your very generous support. You are making such a difference!”
